Not at all worth it, no matter how clear the font or how many chars I identify it doesnt work!!!

How could something that works well in your web browser fail so miserably in an app.

Update: Crashes in iOS 5. ----- Recognizes most of the graphics I throw at it. I dont find rotation to be an issue. This is for quick simple jobs. Plus its free.

I use the website all the time and it works great. The app is another story as it would crash as soon as I chose a photo from my library. I wish I could just upload a photo from my library to the website.

I wish I could see a history of searches. I wish I could use a horizontal image. I wish it wasnt so buggy. It does work occasionally though.

Took over 10 tries to upload the picture and finally read the font. When it finally does read the font it recognizes some of the letters as something entirely different. For example, it recognizes "e" as a "9" or "s" as a "5" or it even recognizes some letters as nothing and the font is very clear, the picture is very clear, so I dont see why it would even suggest those kind of characters when reading" it. Lastly, even after you correct and delete all the mistakes its made and try to dictate which font it is in the end, the results were too vague. Too many results with too many styles that are similar to the font you are looking for but none of them are the exact one. I dont know about others but I have had a horrible experience with this app. Terribly frustrating!

Font preview are broken... Slow image processing when working!! Please fix it and make it great again!

When I found this app I was excited! Sounded like what I was searching for. After testing it with newspaper fonts 6 times, I gave up. On the hunt again

I use this program on the web all the time but the app version is horrible. I took 8 pictures and it didnt recognize any of the fonts!

Tried 25+ times. Couldnt even get the apple notepad font.

This app is the best of its kind on the App Store, but it needs an iOS 7 update and iPhone 5/5s support. Please add these features in the next update!!

This app expects a line of type in black in a straight line with no shadows. It cant do reverse (aka knockout) type, forget about script fonts. Basically wrong 98.9% of the time with a limited database.

App constantly crashes. It has a difficult time identifying characters of cursive letters. When the app DOES work, and you click on the font that it might be, it says that a problem has occurred and then crashes. Theres got to be a better app then this out there. Dont bother.

This app is no longer working as it once did. The last update was in Dec, 2011. The developer appears to have abandoned it. WhatTheFont is full of bugs, slow and crashes a lot. The app used to be my go-to for font identification but I can no longer deal with the poor performance/experience and will be looking for an alternative.

Good and suprisingly accurate typography tool. Sadly for iphone only.
