Pros and cons of WhatTheFont app for iPhone and iPad

WhatTheFont app good for

"send" button is now present to email list of results , after my comment 1 day ago ! BRAVO !
Im a student and this app just made my life! Thank you so much, if I run into you Ill give you a hug!
I use the website all the time as a designer at work and am amazed by its accuracy! Great app!
Good app, but doesnt do well with attached letters. Even with the iPod touch, you can just open Safari and snap a photo...
Its a pretty useful tool if you work with fonts and design all the time. Not always perfect but provides close matches. It helps to have good lighting and a clear shot of the font in question. A nice option would be to allow users to confirm whether or not the result was a complete match or not, similar to the face finding feature in iPhoto 09.
Id bet dollars to doughnuts the majority of the poor reviews are from people who own older generations of the iPhone. This works like a charm with the 3GS. Just great.!

Some bad moments

I suppose if you are a professional graphic artist, have lots of money for expensive fonts and cannot recognize some odd fonts, this app may possibly help you. overall it is a mediocre app that calls home for some rudimentary analysis with YOUR handholding and lets you visit their web site so you can buy fonts you dont need. have fun, I deleted mine. a waste of time. visit many free font sites or foundries directly instead.
But nice in theory! I think it would help if you could rotate the cropped photo before uploading it so you can submit the proper orientation, because unless you do the recognition software get confused and you get tons of inaccurate results! I guess it might be a 3G thing but... update please!
Font recognition works like a charm. Unfortunately the Send by Email feature is broken (did they even test it?).
I first downloaded this when I had the iPhone 3G and it never worked. Ive had the iPhone 4 for almost 6 months and tried using it on many different fonts and it still doesnt work. I dont know how the website differs, but Im not willing to try it if it wont work on my phone. Really cool idea, but for an idea to be good, it has to work! Terrible app, and doesnt even deserve 1 star simply because it doesnt work!
Not at all worth it, no matter how clear the font or how many chars I identify it doesnt work!!!
How could something that works well in your web browser fail so miserably in an app.
